immense: huge: unusually great in size or amount or degree or especially extent or scope (immense green field)

starry:  abounding with or resembling stars

opposite: being directly across from each other; facing (young couple sitting opposite teach other at the table)

motionless: inactive, not in physical motion

distant: separated in space or coming from or going to a distance (the distant ship)

near: not far distant in time or space or degree or circumstances

close (by) : at or within a short distance in space or time or having elements near each other

huge: unusually great in size or amount or degree or especially extent or scope (huge man)

skyward: toward the sky (img)

sunny: of weather or a day, featuring a lot of sunshine; Of a place, receiving a lot of sunshine (sunny day)

bright: emitting or reflecting light readily or in large amounts (the sun is bright and hot)

radiant, beaming: radiating or as if radiating light (the beaming sun)

inward, outward, upward, sideward, seaward, skyward, backward, downward, forward:  the words of direction

dull: emitting or reflecting very little light

planetary: of or relating to or resembling the physical or orbital characteristics of a planet or the planets (eg: a planetary year is the amount of time it takes a planet to revolve around its star)

lunar: of or relating to or associated with the moon (eg: a lunar month is the period of one complete revolution of the moon around Earth, 29.5 days)

galactic: of or relating to a galaxy (especially our galaxy the Milky Way)

stellar: being or relating to or resembling or emanating from stars (eg: stellar light)

nebular: of or relating to or resembling a nebula

solar: relating to or derived from the sun or utilizing the energies of the sun (eg: solar eclipse, solar energy, solar system)

eastern: lying toward or situated in the east (img)

northern: situated in or oriented toward the north (img)

southern: situated in or coming from regions of the south(img)

western: lying toward or situated in the west (img)

cosmic: of or from or pertaining to or characteristic of the cosmos or universe (eg: cosmic rays)

northerly: coming from the north; used especially of wind

southerly: from the south; used especially of wind

boundless: boundless, unbounded, limitless , seemingly boundless in amount, number, degree, or especially extent

infinite: having no limits or boundaries in time or space or extent or magnitude

calm: (of weather) free from storm or wind (sunrise over a calm sea)

Sunsight: Accurate Term for the First Sighting of the Sun in the Morning(pic)

half moon: the time at which the Moon is at first or last quarter when half its face is illuminated (pic)

firmament: Firmament is a name for the sky or the heavens, generally used in the context of Christianity, Judaism and Islam

heaven: the sky

sky: the atmosphere and outer space as viewed from the earth (img)

welkin: The sky, the upper air; the heavens; firmament

heavenly body: (pl. heavenly bodies) celestial body, natural objects visible in the sky (img )

Celestial: of or relating to the sky

Zodiac: The Zodiac (1) (2) is a band of twelve constellations that circle (1) (2) the Earth.

There is a line that circles the sky known as the Ecliptic. The Sun appears to move along the ecliptic as the earth orbits the Sun each year. The Zodiac are the twelve constellations that lie along the Ecliptic. ( The Zodiac )



Constellation: A grouping of stars that make an imaginary picture in the sky. There are 88 constellations.


A group of stars that forms a pattern or picture.
